| Since disasters happen frequently in China in recent years, the post-disaster relief has attracted the attention of the country, government and the society in China. While social work has been one of the services of the post-disaster relief abroad, it only starts to play a role in the post-disaster relief recently in China. The accomplishment of social work, in regard to the theory development and practice of post-disaster social work, is recognized.After the3rd August earthquake in Ludian, the Ministry of Civil Affair has started the project called "Social Work Support Service for Ludian Earthquakehquake Civil Affair has started the project called "Social Work Support Service for ted the attention of the country, government and the society in China. While social work has beemoothly, supported by the Ministry of Civil Affair, the Bureau of Civil Affair of Yunnan Province and the Bureau of Zhaotong City has founded the Social Work Service Center of Ludian3rd August Earthquake.The Project is a post-disaster social work service which is leaded by the government, and cooperated by the social organizations and social work organizations. The Project is carried out through the Social Work Service Center of Ludian3rd August Earthquake. Based on the theory of crisis intervention, theory of good governance and political and social interaction, it has fostered the execution of social work service in the post-disaster area.The researcher has participated in the Project as a worker in the Information and Media team of the Project. Based on the Project, the research introduces and studies the process of social work intervention at the transitional settlement period in the Ludian earthquake. It concludes that such period is a critical stage; therefore, the leadership of the government and the cooperation among the government, social work organizations and social organizations are necessary for fulfilling the goal of post-disaster relief. |
