Gratitude is the individual for society or others for their help and kindness sincere recognition, and through their own efforts by giving sincere returns. Since ancient times, Gratitude has always been considered the most basic code of ethics and a code of ethics, which is to maintain the ethical basis of social benign operation. Meanwhile, Gratitude is also inheritance cycle of the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation. In recent years, due to the lack of gratitude education of universities, which is the most important reason to leading students who weak their consciousness of gratitude day by day; in addition, a grown of lack of gratitude at present; this is an important reason for our collective indifference in recent years frequently. Therefore, the essence of gratitude education is to ask the students learn to understand, differentiate and remember gratitude; on other side, gratitude education is also educate student “gratitude and repay it”; Further, Action in good faith to repay the society with others.However, this paper is aims to present situation and solutions of gratitude education in colleges and universities by using the literature study, theoretical analysis, historical research and research methods of logical analysis. There are three parts as follow:Firstly, defined and explained on gratitude and gratitude education, then reviewing the relevant research to clarify gratitude education content in colleges and universities, that is for article lays the theoretical foundation.Secondly, depend on above research, presents some issues in gratitude education of colleges and universities in China; these major issues is the fuzzy goals of gratitude education, unscientific methods, simple, not satisfactory, lack of atmosphere, etc. Meanwhile, it`s also analysis of the causes of issue.Finally, according to the issue in the gratitude education in colleges and universities, puts forward the discipline construction that actively carry out gratitude education subject research; Innovation of gratitude education on teaching, increase college students’ gratitude educational content, structure evaluation methods of gratitude education, and build gratitude atmosphere. Based on the above research content, the innovation point of this research is to combine of psychology, sociology and other related views as a theoretical basis for research; this will contribute to a comprehensive analysis of gratitude education-related research, as well as strategies to provide a solid theoretical foundation.
