The Research And Survey On College Students’ Citizenship Responsibility In Social Media

Contemporary college students belongs to the "digital natives", because they are a new generation with the digital products growing up. Social media is an inevitable way for them to communicate with others. However, the students lack the sense of responsibility using the social media, which results in a variety of social issues. Some surveys show that the college students’responsibility awareness in using social media is in the general level. College students generally show their weak patriotism, inadequate legal knowledge, low degree of credibility, faint copyright consciousness, poor self-control, and so on. Therefore, there exists a large practical significance to help college students to make clear on their civil responsible content in using the social media and develop a sense of their civic responsibility.There are the two types of responsibilities for students to adhere when using social media are common responsibility and individual responsibility. Common responsibility includes:(1) Obey the law and create a safe social network environment; (2) Be frank and respect others as well as accelerate the civilization process of social networks; (3) Be united and promote the harmonious development of social networks; (4) Benefit ourselves and others as well as achieve win-win cooperation of social networks. Individual responsibility includes:(1) Release real and valuable information; (2) Assess information in an objective and standardized way; (3) Share valuable and moral information; (4) Accept healthy and meaningful information.To cultivate and strengthen the responsibility of using social media by oneself, family, school and society levels. (1) Self level:complete self-awareness and initiative self-improvement; (2) The family level:promote childhood education, cultivate habits; make youself an example, provide role models; high frequency remind and the right guidance; (3) The school level:focus on education integration, keep on the hierarchy of education objects, enrich the diversity of educational activities and enhance the adaptability of regulations; (4) The social level:create a social network environment under the law, promote the realization of the construction of civil society, create a good atmosphere for social networks. These efforts come from four aspects can effectively improve the sense of responsibility awareness of college students.
