In reality, individuals are embedded in social network, which affects their own social behaviors, including the job search behavior. During the job search process, an individual has to maximize the use of all resources that he or she has accumulated to get a satisfied job. In Chinese current society, "connections" plays a non-negligible role in the job search process.Based on the Strong and weak tie of the social network theory, this thesis is about to explore the employment process of the urban youth. The criteria judgments standard of China will be figured out combined the definition of the Strong and weak tie explained by Granovetter and the specific character of China,Through the analysis of interviewees’ strong connections, weak connections, and interactive relationships between strong and weak connections in their social networks during the job search path, it turns out that 64.1% young people find a job through connections, in which 68% find a job based on the combined effect of strong and weak connections while 60% find a job passes on mixed recourses, including providing information or doing someone a favor during the job search path. The social network in job search path has a pattern of different sequence. This study proves the research result that the strong and weak connections coordinate with each other and play a joint role in practice. Weak connections serve as a bridge in the spread of information while the strong connections have a significant impact on young people’s job search and their choice of career. Job seekers usually acquire information passed by weak connections from the strong connections(pattern of different sequence) like water ripples spreading out from the center, and take the job offer depending on the influence of the people close to the final-decision-maker. The relationship between the job seekers, intermediaries who provide help and people close to the final-decision-makers are all connections from strong to weak.
