Traditional mathematical teaching aids are essential to the elementary schoolmathematical educational activities, not only is the auxiliary tool of teachers’educational teaching activities, but have to be used by students to learn mathematicalknowledge.Teaching aids provide a bridge which can help the students’ imagestransfer from the specific image thinking to abstract and logical thinking. Mathteachers’ reflections on the use of traditional teaching aids show that it can helpteachers to improve teaching effects, enrich the teaching theories and practices, finallypromote the common development of teachers and studentsOn this paper, the research depends on the basis of related researches, and usesthree public elementary school in Jinan as the object. It is three months that theliterature review method, questionnaire method, observation method and interviewmethod are used to investigate materials. It is three aspects to investigate and analyzethe status quo of using of the mathematical traditional teaching aids in elementaryschool, which is the basic situations of the elementary school mathematics teachers,situations of mathematical teaching aids equipments, the awareness, using,management conditions of teachers’ self-made aids, as well as the teachers’understanding of self-made teaching aids. Some suggestions are put forward to solvethese problems, on the bases of analyzing the problems on traditional mathematicalteaching aids’ using, equipments and management situations in elementary school.The results of investigation show that there are three problems: first, different teacherswith different experiences use different traditional teaching aids; ones who have lessteaching experiences can not use the traditional teaching aids properly, and ignore theuse of traditional teaching aids in teaching acts; Second, the traditional teaching aidsare ignored by school, expenditure is not enough, less management. At last, teachers’ enthusiasm is low on self-made teaching aids. On the results of the survey: first,generally, people tend to enjoy the efficient of the Internet; second, lack of funds inputto the aids in the school, union of purchase, ignorance of self-made teaching aids, andlarge class in current days, etc; Third, mathematics teachers are different in teachingexperiences and teaching styles, experienced teachers are better in using traditionalteaching aids.On analysis of existing problems, suggestions are proposed from the school andteachers on this paper. First of all, the school should enhance purchase fundings toaids, achieve intercollegiate resources’ sharing; reducing class students members,implementing the combination of small class and independent inquiry teaching mode;Encouraging teachers to make teaching aids by themselves, establishing a goodsupervision and management system. Secondly, teachers should raise their awarenessof the traditional teaching aids, enhance the using level of traditional teaching aids;Paying attention to the usage and reflection on the traditional mathematical teachingaids, and great importance should be attached to the supplement of self-made teachingaids in class teaching, in order to make the traditional mathematical teaching aids playmore important role in the elementary school mathematical teaching and promote thedevelopment of teachers and students.
