In Chinese ancient times, China attached great importance toeducation under the role of governance,“be rich and then teach” and“protocol people” became important strategies and ideas for therulers and thinkers to govern the country. With the great changestaken place in the social environment, governors and thinkers in earlyHan Dynasty were seeking a way out of traditional Chinese culture.With their constantly exploring, they finally found out thebreakthrough on the basis of the idea of emphasizing cultivation inZhou Dynasty. In particular social environment, education in the Handynasty was officially established, and then became maintenancerule of governors.When it refers to Edifying in Han dynasty, the important role ofXiao Ti Li Tian had to be mentioned. Emphasizing agriculture andscorning business of Han Dynasty made governors set up Xiao Ti LiTian to promote the development of education. People who do thebest under Xiao Ti Li Tian were selected from the grass-roots societyand they accelerated the development of education together with SanLao. Bases on systematic examination of education functions of Xiao Ti Li Tian in the village, the author tries to analyze and summarize thefunctions and characteristics of Xiao Ti Li Tian in Han Dynasty oneducation in village. This article mainly includes six parts:The first part mainly introduces the cause of the problem,significance of the research, research methods and literature review.The second part mainly introduces the reflection of the classic ofChinese traditional village education system and explains that Xiao TiLi Tian is the function of education in village from the two core oftraditional culture and the angle of the two characteristics oftraditional education.The third part introduces the of Xiao Ti Li Tian, includingcultural background and social background.The fourth part mainly introduced educational functions of XiaoTi Li Tian in Han dynasty, including the function----family harmony atits starting point, the core function----the village education functionand the expansion function----social harmony. The author shows thelinked effect of village education function as the intermediate offamily and society step by step, which makes the education from thesocial cell to village gradually, which means the village “transformingsocial traditions”. And then spread to the whole society, which makesthe whole society civilized, more harmonious and stable.The fifth part mainly analyzes the characteristics of the villageeducation function of Xiao Ti Li Tian in Han dynasty. It main containsthree characteristics: performances for rewards and punishments,the combination of politics and education and establishing in threeproperties.The sixth part is the conclusion of this paper. Based on the research on the educational function and characteristics of Xiao Ti LiTian in Han dynasty, the author found that the system of Xiao Ti LiTian in Han dynasty had great influence on Han dynasty. Influenced byit, agricultural achieved stable development, and the village andsociety in Han Dynasty were harmonious. This study not only providessignificance reference for today’s interpersonal relationship, but alsocan effectively guarantee the construction of a harmonious societytoday.
