With the new curriculum reform continued to deepen, read the novel as one of the most important content of the Chinese course, everybody pays attention to the develop ment of novel, effective teaching, not only can improve students’ ability to collect inform ation, but also broaden their horizons, expand the thinking quality, train the students to f orm a healthy aesthetic taste.However, teaching in rural junior middle school’s novel is b oring, monotonous, boring in the long-term state, worrying.In view of this, the author using anonymous questionnaire method, the author’s count y two rural junior middle school students and teachers carried out field investigation, the main investigation of the current situation and teaching conditions they read novels. Acco rding to the results of the survey:Rural junior high school students’ reading needs less p assive, reading, reading the pan entertainment, reading habit is bad, the lack of teacher gu idance etc. Rural teachers own quality hard enough, the lack of understanding of novel the ory knowledge, the class model of rigid, the lack of guidance and so on students’ reading.According to the analysis results of the questionnaire, the author summarizes the specifi c novel teaching strategies and teaching methods.In addition, the author thinks that to str engthen the training of teaching ability of subject, improve teachers’ quality and teaching ability, training students to improve reading ability.This paper is divided into four part s.The first part describes the novel countryside junior middle school reading research rea son, background,research meaning and research method;The second part through the que stionnaire survey, analysis of present situation of junior middle school students reading n ovels and summarize the reason forming the status quo;The third part puts forward a n ovel reading teaching strategy; the fourth part concludes the cultivation of reading teachi ng of the subject ability.Through these studies I hope can give teachers a little inspirati on, improve reading teaching in rural junior middle school novel situation.
