Research Onthe Supporting Systemfor Poor Students In Colleges

With the continuous development of social economy,and the increasing pace of expansion of colleges more and more students can receive higher education, with the college students growing ranks of higher education fees are also gradually improve, t he poor family students receiving higher education has become a difficult problem. E ducation poverty’s problems are more obvious in the present stage, not only affect the ir study and life, but also cause family and social problems, bad for the development of China’s higher education.China has a long history of poor students, and the financial aid system has been i mproving. This paper first analyzes the status quo and characteristics of poor students in Colleges in China, based on the summary of the definition of poor students, and c ombined with analysising example of Nanchang University of science and technology academy. Secondly, the connotation of the poor college students subsidy system dev elopment and structure, combined with the analysis of the basic situation of the colleg e poor students, point out the financial aid system’s effect and existing problems. Acc ording to the practice and Enlightenment of Illinois Institute of Technology America f unding system, pointed out the countermeasures to improve the funding system for po or students in Colleges : standardized management of the poor students; strengthen th e diversified funding ideas; outstanding poor students types, expand the coverage of t he types; Make reasonable repayment, reduce default rate; Win social support, set up special scholarships for poor students; Combine the good performence of financial ai d and spirit, Make good poverty relief work; Promote locally-granted student loans.
