As textbook is the first-hand material provided for students’ learning and teachers’ teaching, it is important to apply information technology to mathematics curriculum by means of researching on how to add information technology to the textbook. America acts as a pioneer in the field of using information technology in mathematics curriculum. what is more, the publication of the third edition of the UCSMP textbook is just to meet the needs of developing information technology in curriculum. The research on UCSMP textbooks not only can provide a new direction for investigating how to apply information technology to mathematics education better, it also provides valuable guidance for textbooks compiling in China.By using the literature research method, questionnaire survey method and the comparative studies, the author encodes the information technique of two textbook and also makes comparative studies from five aspects as following: the tools(hardware and software) used in information technology, the application forms of information technology, the stage of applying information technology in teaching, the role of information technology and the way of presenting. At last the author finds that there exists difference between the two textbooks in integration information technology. The PEP textbooks use computers and calculators more frequently, while UCSMP textbooks use graphing calculators more frequently. The PEP textbooks present more special topics, integration accounts for a larger proportion of UCSMP textbooks. Since there exits differences between the formal curriculum and operational curriculum, the questionnaire survey is used to research the use of the two textbooks by the students., in order to understand the actual application condition of information technology. The result is that the students using UCSMP textbook use information technology better than those using PEP textbooks in the learning process.Through the above comparative research, the author concludes that it should correctly handle the relationship between information technology and knowledge content in compiling the textbook; it should strengthen the diversity of information technology tools in the textbooks, especially the use of graphic calculator. Regarding examination evaluation, it should improve the regulations of mathematics exam; the examination questions should be allowed to work out by use of information technology.To promote the process of digital textbooks, accelerate the development of online learningplatform. |
