In recent years, with the increasing demands of primary and secondary schools to lessen theschool load, although electronic schoolbag is controversial, but as a modern solution strategy, itgradually begins to promote and use in some big cities. Electronic textbooks as Electronicschoolbag’s core, its design, development and application are more and more attention, becoming oneof the hotspots in the domestic and foreign scholars.Through analysis of a large number of literatures found that: electronic textbooks widespreadimpacting on the future of higher education will become a mainstream medium for teaching andlearning, however, at present, the domestic application of electronic textbooks in universities is veryfew, the related research has focused on the concept, function, design and development. Therefore,based on relative studies at home and abroad, this study adopts the questionnaire survey method toanalyze the factors influencing university promotion of electronic textbooks, in order to providereferences for its promotion.This study, firstly defines the concept of electronic textbooks, think that the electronic textbooksis narrowly textbooks, refers to a special class of e-books which meets specific content standards(curriculum standards) and integrates text, images, sound, video and other forms of information, itsuse must be considered the contents of textbooks, reading software and electronic reading terminalthree core elements at the same time, and this research describes its interactivity, relevance, richmedia and openness. Simultaneously, compares electronic textbooks with the concept of e-books,multimedia courseware and network textbooks, in order to understand more accurately. In addition,this paper also theoretically states the feasibility of the electronic textbooks’ promotion in universities:considering that the basis for the feasibility of the electronic textbooks’ promotion is thecharacteristics of university teaching, the shortcomings of traditional paper textbooks and theadvantages of electronic textbooks, electronic textbooks’ application experience, and existedapplication conditions in universities. Secondly, combined with the innovation diffusion theory and existed research results, this studydraws up the teachers’ and students’ questionnaire, to investigate the influencing factors inuniversities of electronic textbooks’ promotion, from the basic cognitive, hardware technologysupport, personal factors, teaching support, environmental factors and textbooks selection dimensions,questionnaires distributed by random sampling, mainly to teachers and students in Henan university,and the results of the survey were statistical and analytical by SPSS18.0.Finally, according to the statistical results of questionnaires, this research tries to provide somesuggestions for the promotion of electronic textbooks in universities: the electronic textbooks’perfection and specification, students’ shift in reading consciousness, the demonstration of opinionleaders and the construction of environmental factors are analyzed for electronic textbooks’promotion in universities.This research on electronic textbooks of universities disserts from the perspective of promoting,and combines with innovation diffusion theory; it has innovation on research contents, and possessesimportantly theoretical and practical significance.
