College entrance composition proposition is a comprehensive evaluation in terms of students’writing skill, thinking potential, expression skill, values and personality quality and many other indicators of ability, which not only affects the fate of individual students, but also has an important guide significance for our personnel selection and training. Research on college entrance composition proposition is of great significance to explore our precious exam experience, improve the quality of college entrance composition proposition, raise the level of teaching and writing, as well as promote our country’s rich cultural treasure exam.With its object of study aimed at college entrance composition proposition since the independency of Chinese language subject,using literature research, historical analysis, comparative research and data statistics, this paper tries to describe and summarize the historical trajectory features of composition proposition under the influences of the zeitgeist and the mainstream ideology so that to make some rational vision of its future development.Based on the above ideas, this paper is divided into two parts:The first part is an introduction, mainly on the study of the origin of this thesis, purpose and significance, literature review, definition, research methods and ideas; the second part of this paper is the main part, which is divided into five chapters. Among chapter Ⅰ to Ⅳ.the history of college entrance composition proposition more than a hundred years is divided to four historical periods and discussed separately according to the characteristics of different stages. Chapter I is the period of difficult beginning and contemporary reformation before the May "Fourth Movement (1904--1919); Chapter Ⅱ is the period of modern exploration and preliminary stereotypes during the Republic of China (1919-1949); Chapter Ⅲ is the period of twists and turns and fracture before Reform and Opening up(1949--1977);Chapter IV is the period of regression and continuous development in the New Era(1977-now). The final chapter summarizes and reflects the evolution of a century entrance composition proposition based on the previous four chapters, as well as some rational prospects about the future development trend of it.
