Preschool education development is affected by many factors, and the level of socio-economic development is an important factor. Preschool education quality is an important indicator of preschool education, and it’s also subject to the impact of socio-economic development. Preschool education quality includes kindergarten quality and children’s development quality. Therefore, the level of socio-economic development is the foundation of kindergarten quality and children’s development quality, which is important for kindergarten quality and children’s development. At the same time, high-quality preschool education can promote children’s development, and ultimately affect the socio-economic development.Based on this, the specific problems of this study are:Under our current social development and preschool education background, What is the status of the preschool education quality? Whether there is a significant correlation between the regional socio-economic characteristics and preschool education quality (kindergarten quality and children’s development outcomes)? If it exists, the regional socio-economic characteristics by what mechanism and path acts on preschool education quality?Measurement, investigation, literature and various statistical analysis methods were used in this research.First, according to the sample frame of China Kindergarten Quality Assessment-Survey of Kindergarten Quality on 11 Provinces,5 provinces were extracted from Eastern, Central and Western region in China. Second,22 district and counties were extracted according to the level of socio-economic development.59 samples of kindergartens,146 samples of classes and 558 samples of children development were extracted by stratified random sampling.Descriptive Statistics, One-Way ANOVA and Independent Sample T Test were used to reveal the status of kindergarten quality and children development. Correlation analysis and Regression analysis were used to analyze the relationship between regional socio-economic characteristics and preschool education quality. The results:1.The level of kindergarten process quality is relatively low. The level of activities quality is low.The group size is too large. The child-teacher ratio is too relatively high. The level of teachers’qualifications is relatively low.The kindergarten quality is a big difference among China’s Eastern, Central and Western regions, and it’s also a big difference between between public kindergarten and private kindergarten.2.The level of child development is difference among China’s Eastern, Central and Western regions, and it’s also difference between cities and towns.3.the regional socio-economic characteristics shows a significant correlation with kindergarten quality.The fiscal preschool funding has a significant predictive effect on kindergarten quality, which is a key factor for kindergarten quality.4.The regional socio-economic characteristics influence kindergarten process quality through kindergarten structural quality(Teacher Qualification).5.The regional socio-economic characteristics shows a significant correlation with children’s math. The fiscal preschool funding shows a significant correlation with children’s development.According to the insufficient of this study, the researchers will access to more appropriate sufficient sample size and collect more appropriate data, and use more advanced measurement technology and statistical analysis method to explore further how much effect of regional socio-economic characteristic on the preschool education quality and which way it takes effect.
