A Research On The Quality Of Population’s Impact On Regional Economic Development

With the momentum of the21st century, we should clearly recognize that the waveof information technology and globalization roll of human society into a brilliantcentury. Competition between countries is mainly based on the culture of science andtechnology, and the main driving force of technological culture is high-qualitypersonnel, the level of the quality of the population will become the main force of thesocial and economic development of a country or region. This paper which studies theimprovement of population quality contributing to regional economic growth can bedivided into four parts.Part I: The definition of population quality. Draw on many domestic and foreignscholars’ research on the quality of the population, combined with China’s basicnational conditions and the requirements of the comprehensive evaluation of thepopulation quality, to define population quality, namely: the quality of the population iscomposed of the society in the production and development manifested through theunderstanding of the world and transform the world activities, characteristics. Followthe system in accordance with the definition of the population quality, comprehensive,condensed scientific, stable the comparability and flexible operability principles.populationquality index system is designed to include the natural population growth rate, theaverage life expectancy, average years of schooling, population sex ratio,dependencyratio of the population,and so on.Part II: Evaluation of the population quality. Entropy Method subjective weightingmethod and G1objective weighting method, the standard three empowerment methodcalculated from the difference method indicators combined weights, and preferences ofdecision makers to build the subjective and objective combination of population qualityevaluation model. Using the raw data of the31provinces in China in2010,we evaluatepopulation quality comprehensively.Part III: Impact mechanism research. According to economic theory, the percapita GDP, the added value of the tertiary industry in GDP proportion of employees in the tertiary industry accounted for the proportion of tertiary industry and urbanizationrate are formed economic development variable group. Combined with the quality ofthe population indicator variable group, build structural equation to analysis the impacton regional economic development path and the effect of the quality of the populationquantitatively.Part IV: Policy research.With production function model,we calculate outputelasticity of fixed capital investment, the amount of labor and the quality of thepopulation of the country, eastern and central and western regions. By comparison ofthe elasticity of capital labor and population quality of different regions,we affirm thatpopulation quality is the key factor of regional development.Finally, based on theabove research,we put forward the suggestions of improving the population quality andcoordinating the regional economic development.
