American teacher education has experienced three stages :teacher education separates from university、teacher education combines with university、the institutionalization of university-based teacher education. After nearly two centuries of change and development American teacher education has walked in the forefront of the world teacher education quality. At present, in the field of education, many people call for improving teacher education. Objectively looking at the development of the American university-based teacher education,it is not hard to find, the American teacher education accumulates a lot of commendable experience and advantage, but because of various questioning and criticism from all sides, the university-based teachers education still faces a lot of confusion, even for in a long time,finding the theory of "crisis". In recent decades, the federal government, state governments and social organizations and schools are trying to change the university-based teachers education, and improving the quality of teacher education.At present, during the golden age of rapid development in society in our country, education is also developing in heated competition with each other. With the development of society,up to now, as "countries will strong, the government will emphasis on teachers and officials" the best time, motivating the development of teacher education. This paper uses literature analysis, comparison, case study method, factor analysis and other popular social science research methods, based on the comparative reference purpose, the context of teacher education development from the United States to clarify the incarnation of university-based teacher education, by investigating a series of changes, rationally separates from the successful experience of American university-based teacher education and failure of confusion.To education, between countries has the impedance of the ideology, has the system barriers, but good education is the same education for making progress, good teachers are the same "to preach to teach and to reassure". From this perspective, the university-based teacher education experience and alert, to teacher education in our country, especially the development of comprehensive university teacher education providing guidance and alert. Finally by other’s faults, wise men correct their own.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is introduction, mainly tell the selected topic reason, the research significance, literature review, the definition, research ideas, methods, difficulties and innovation of several parts and the present research situation and the direction of the American university-based teacher educationThe second part from the prospective of historical insight,the university-based teachers’ status. In this part, mainly from teacher education separates from university、teacher education combines with university、the institutionalization of university-based teacher education three stages, describing the trajectory of teacher education in the United States and searching the confusion and changing of the university-based teacher education.The third part provides analysis in recent years, the university-based teacher education exists confusion, finds out the root of the problem of the university-based teacher education, and then through the American universities, government, the social organization from all walks of life resolving a series of changes of American university teacher education, thinking about the change of the gain and loss.The fourth part is the perspective of the typical case education program of the university-based teacher education in recent years –Teachers of a new era of(TNE),with a dissecting sparrow way, in order to reveal the insight into the American university-based teacher education reform, results, etc.The fifth part is the university-based teachers education enlightenment on the current teacher’ education in our country. By other’s faults, wise men correct their own, through the analysis of the American university-based teacher education reform, according to the actual situation of the current teachers education development in our country, learn its successful experience and alert, and points out that the teacher education in China should be done or continue to explore the pluralistic teacher education training mode, reasonable positioning comprehensive university teacher education, perfecting the education policy support and set up a highly open, of the integration of teacher education system and other measures.
