| Tianqi Stick is an outstanding representative among West Sticks of Chinese martial arts. It is the most famous one in Double-end Stick skills. As one of the Non-material Cultural Heritages of Gansu, Tianqi Stick is an important part of West Sticks which enjoys equal popularity with East Guns in Chinese Martial arts. It is known as the “King of West Sticks” for its long history, rich content, unique style, well-ordered inheritance and self-contained system, and is widely circulated in Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture area. After more than two-hundred-year inheritance by famous masters of previous generations, Tianqi Stick is now facing the modern test and reform along with other traditional culture. Due to the time development and the influence of various factors, Tianqi Stick is facing a serious crisis of inheritance and development. So how to inherit and develop Tianqi Stick in a better way becomes an urgent and difficult issue for contemporary martial arts researchers to solve.This study took the development status of Tianqi Stick as the research object, and analyzed its inheritance methods, current development situation, restricting factors and developing strategies through expert interviews, field survey, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics and literature data etc..Through the investigation and study, this paper came to the following conclusions:(1)There is a serious gender dispropotionality among Tianqi Stick practicers.(2) The inheritance range of Tianqi Stick is limited to the place which is close to its origin and can’t spread to other regions.(3) The limitation of theory level of inheritors hold back the promotion of Tianqi Stick.(4) No unified and standard moves make Tianqi Stick unable to connect with contemporary martial competition rules.(5) The lack of inheritance medium increases the difficulties of practicing.(6) Tianqi Stick doesn’t conform to the requirements of contemporary teenagers because of its simple training methods, complicated movements pattern and old skill contents.Tianqi Stick development strategies:(1) To strengthen the publicity of Tianqi Stick.(2) To guide it by scientific theories.(3)To optimize the teaching and training methods.(4) To pay attention to the school education of its inheritance.(5) To reform traditional patterns in order to adapt to the needs of the development of modern society.(6) To protect and fund the inheritors.(7) To protect and inherit it in a digitizing way.Suggestions:(1) Tianqi Stick needs to be deeply researched, sorted and inherited by its inheritors and martial arts experts from the aspects of historical origin, cultural, skill level and the fitness value, in order to inherit and promote it in a better way.(2) To widen the inheritance way and pay attention to education inheritance.(3) To strengthen the study of theoretical level of inheritors and martial arts teachers.(4) To reform the patterns and methods of Tianqi Stick in order to connect with the contemporary martial competition rules.(5) To specify the martial arts institutions and organize martial arts exchange activities as more as possible.(6) Taking the heritage as the core, establishing the effective and feasible inheritance mechanism to promote its sustainable development.Today we examine the tianqi stick this northwest stick, can only marvel at the tianqi stick is indeed worthy of cherished heritage of culture of martial arts, but we seldom out of the study, inherit. Found in the research process, the tianqi stick is slowly in toward extinction, therefore, we in a sense of urgency, a sense of crisis consciousness, actively explore, rescue, protection and inheritance of this is away from our valuable cultural heritage. |
