Preschool education is the foundation of life education, related to the development of a person’s life. Preschool education is the foundation and hope of the national education. The standard and level of the development of pre-school education is the important guaranty, which can reflect whether a country’s overall mechanism is reasonable or not, the education system is perfect or not, people’s livelihood of a society is harmonious and national quality will be the important guarantee of sustainable development or not. So preschool physical education as an important part of preschool education plays an irreplaceable role. This research on preschool physical education is in the narrow sense, which refers to the kindergarten sports.For decades, preschool sports enterprise of Pingdingshan city has been paid attention to by relevant departments and the education world, and adopted a series of measures to promote its development, but in general the theoretical research are still very weak, compared with other developments in the field of preschool education, there is still a large gap. Preschool physical education is a systematic science education activities, and in practice, it needs the right guidance of the preschool education workers and the good guarantee of physical environment. Therefore, Preschool physical education work depends largely on the development degree of sports work, as well as kindergarten schoolteachers’ teaching and organization situation. By methods of literature, questionnaire, mathematical statistics and so on, this research conducts a comprehensive investigation into the present situation of preschool physical education teaching of Pingdingshan city, other sports work, each group of sports’ cognition as well as the factors which restrict the development of the preschool physical education, and finally, it draws the following conclusions and Suggestions.Conclusions:1. The development of a kindergarten sports in Pingdingshan city is comprehensive; And teaching staff engaged in preschool physical education are relatively wide range, almost all the teachers can teach sports.2. The gender difference and specialty of teachers working in preschool physical education are remarkable; which give priority to teachers with non-professional sports teaching.3. Teachers teaching preschool physical education in kindergarten are lack of sports professional knowledge and lack of perfecting and updating knowledge.4. The teaching target reflects the phenomenon that teachers emphasize on children’s physical health, but ignore their mental health.5. The integrity of the teaching plans need to be further strengthened; Teaching organization form is relatively lack to the cultivation of children’s independence; There exists difference between the choice of teaching material and preschool teachers’ ability.6. There is lack of unified standards to the development of children fitness testing, health inspection work, etc. Supervision and management mechanism is relatively weak.7. There exist cognitive differences among different groups of children and teachers are lack of professional recognition of children’s sports.8. There still exists the phenomenon that they pay much more attention to children’s intelligence than to their physical strength in kindergartens of Pingdingshan city. One of the most main factors which bounds children’s sports development is security issues.
