The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of class group counseling on the College Freshman’s school adjustment in China.The subjects were two freshman classes come from Jiangxi Science & Technology Normal University. Through class group counseling experimental research to examine the class group counseling on school adjustment in college freshmen. According to the requirement of experimental method, the matching objects were divided into two groups:the experiment class and control class. The two classes had test by the College Freshman’s adaptation to scale (FARS) before and after the experiment. The two classes were same before the experiment and had these results after six weeks of intervention.The research found:the class group counseling has significantly affected the College Freshman’s school adjustment. The experiment class’s scores significantly lower than the control class’s in learning method, resource utilization, interpersonal relationship, career objective and independent living. These shows that after the experiment class accepted a series of class group counseling with the subject of college freshman’s school adjustment, they got better improvement on the various aspects of school adjustment. This improvement was the result of class group counseling, rather than the time. At the end of experiment class accepted the class group counseling after one year, tracking surveyed and analyzed their school adjustment. The research found:the impact of class group counseling had good continuity and stability on the College Freshman’s school adjustment.Used the SPSS 19.0 to analyze the data, got the following conclusion according to the results of data analysis and qualitative analysis. Class group counseling can improve the College Freshman’s school adjustment and the impact can be maintained. Class group counseling can enhance the cognitive ability of college freshmen, improve college freshman’s emotional experience and supporting system, so as to develop school adjustment behavior, ultimately improve the school adaptability of the college freshman. Thinking the deficiency of this study from the methods and plan of study, and propose ideas of the follow-up study.Thus, the class group counseling can affect and improve the school adaptability of college freshman. It is an effective method that help college students better adapt to the university’s new life as soon as possible. Class group counseling as an effective form of education, can enrich and perfect the content of freshman’s entrance education in colleges and universities.
