High middle school students are in a period of youth rebellion that their psychological and physical changes have taken place.Enrollment adaptation is a very important problem for new students. The new students are concerned about the topic that how they can be adapt to the school learning and life in a short time. The paper studied on academic procrastination of fresh students of high middle school in Puyang combined with the theory of group counseling, and designed a targeted group counseling program.The study used the middle school student’s mental adaptability questionnaire, the questionnaire survey was conducted among 500 freshmen of 10 classes in Puyang senior high school. The 500 questionnaires were sent out in the first grade in middle school and the invalid questionnaires were deleted,490 valid questionnaires were obtained at last. Through the statistical analysis of the valid questionnaires, the paper gets the conclusion that the current situation of the adaptation of the freshmen in middle school. According to their admission to adapt to the cause of the problem, combined with the theory of group counseling, designed a set of scheme for group counseling. And then recruit team members in the freshman of middle school,24 students were the voluntary research subjects, there were 6 male students and 6 female students in each experimental group and each control group.24 students were conducted the questionnaire survey, but the control group students didn’t accept this group counseling activities.The paper used the middle school student’s mental adaptability questionnaire to do the pre-test,post-test and follow-up test and make a significant test at last.Finally, the difference was not significant between the experimental group and the control group in pre-test, it showed that the objects were homogeneity; The difference was significant between the experimental group and the control group in pre-test and post-test, it showed that the group counseling produced an effect on admission adaptation; The difference of the experimental group was not significant in pre-test and tracking test in three months, it showed that the effect of the group counseling is persistent.Results of this research:1. Through the questionnaire survey, it is found that the high school students have a high degree of attention to the school leaders.2. Junior high school students’admission adaptation does exist significant difference in gender.3. The group counseling program designed by the author has a significant effect on improving the adaptability of freshmen in high middle school, and it can effectively help the students to adapt to middle school’s study and life.
