In high school biology teaching, teachers should not only stress on fostering the students’ ability proceeding from he characteristics of biology subject, but also improve the teaching effectiveness by enhancing students’basic learning ability. In the past 10 years of new curriculum reform, the transformation of classroom instruction from imparting knowledge into capacity-building is being recommended. In the normal teaching process, most teachers foster their students’ability just when they are imparted knowledge, which is almost ineffective. This tells us that it is still not so definite about the direction of effective teaching on the senior high school biology teaching.Nowadays, the problem we face is how to turn the teaching aim from imparting knowledge to capacity-building, and finally to quality education. From the angle of the teaching practice, the problem to be solved right now is to find out what is the main guidance quality and how to educate.Based on this thinking, on the basis of literature research, the author uses the reference from professor Yuwensen about his viewpoint of quality training in his thesis "The Effective Teaching Strategies of Ability-oriented", which holds that the ability of reading, thinking and expression is the general ability for students, and it is also the common ability to other subjects. This thesis bases on the three main abilities above, linking the characteristic of biology and the practice of teaching, and establishes the capacity-building structure in biology teaching. Meanwhile, it expounds the connotation about competence system and effective teaching strategies. The author expects that this thesis could offer some enlightenment about the capacity-building to biology teaching in senior high school, and consequently promote students’comprehensive ability, and lay the foundation of improving the accomplishment on bioscience.
