Since China’s reform and opening up, along with the deepening of economic reform, the employment pattern of graduate with chief characteristic of guarantee job assignments in plan economy period is broken, and a new "two-way choice" employment pattern fits with socialist market economic system has been established; the sustained and rapid development of economic requires colleges to cultivate and provide more and more qualified talents, contributing to college enrollment in recent years; however, the lagging education system and educational reform model result in a large number of unwelcome graduates who have high scores but low abilities flocking to the community, making the employment of university student a difficult problern, which has aroused the attention of all circles of the society. In 2015 the number of the nationwide college graduates will reach 750 million, plus unemployed graduates in previous years, the employment situation of college students facing more severe. In recent years, affected by the world financial crisis, the economies of most countries are still in recovery, which increased the difficult employment situation in the society. The employment of college graduates not only reflects the level of development and the capacity of current economic for employment, but also related to the long-term stability of social and development of higher education. Employment is vital to people’s livelihood. Achieving full employment and solving the problem of employment of college graduates absolutely will make great significance to the people settle for trickle home, social harmony and economic development.By articulating Marxist employment theory and summarizing leaders’ thoughts and theories since the Founding of new China, this paper mainly focuses on the ways to crack graduates employment, combined with the questionnaire survey based on in-depth analysis on the employment status of graduates. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part articulates the Marxist employment theory and summarizes thoughts and theories about employment of university students by various leaders in China, finding the theoretical guidance and theoretical origins of the students to solve the employment problem. The second part discusses the main factors affecting the current employment of university students after investigation and analysis of the employment status of college graduates. First is government. Although the party and the country attaches great importance to the employment of college students, but the current economic situation, employment system are imperfect, there are many problems in social security and employment services. Second is the higher education following the traditional mode, professional setting, curriculum and training methods and so on being difficult to adapt to the needs of society, resulting in structural contradiction between talent supply and demand of the social. Third is the employment mechanism and personnel evaluation system of the employers are not perfect, increasing the employment requirements. Last is students themselves which academic training are not enough, self-positioning are inaccurate, unrealistic concept of employment, comprehensive ability and quality is not high. All of these make them less competitive employment in the community. The third part discussed ways to solve the graduates employment from four aspects of government, universities, employers and students themselves, and put forward relevant policies to promote the employment of university students, which provides reference and guidance to solve the employment problem of college students.
