Geography teaching in junior and senior high school is a whole system, both of which have links both division. Without a good connection of geography teaching between the middle and high school, physical geography in special, the quality of geography teaching has been seriously affected so as to discourage our students’sense of geography. Hence it is vital to solve problems occurred in teaching connection between middle and high school as well as put forward a theoretic basis for improving such connection. Through questionnaire survey, this essay has analyzed the connection between knowledge in high school teaching; made a comparison of curriculum standard and physical geography distribution between high and middle school; and tried to find out the causes of connection difficulty between them. Then based on that, to work out ways to solve the connection difficulty between middle and high school teaching.From this essay, the causes are as follows:disconnected basic geography teaching and curriculum-set in grade 3 in middle school; scattered distribution of physical geography in textbook; differences of curriculum, knowledge, and capability requirement between middle and high school; and characteristic difference between middle and high school students. Therefore, to solve this problem, it’s necessary to make a comparison between middle and high school in curriculum standard, textbook; integrate the geographic knowledge of middle and high school; arouse students’interests in geography study; and teach students better ways to learn geography.
