Traditional inputs-based teaching doesn’t meet the needs of the new curriculum reform. Students ’poor autonomous learning ability low interest and the lack of English learning strategy leads to the low comprehensive ability, passive learning, and above all, examination- oriented Education is a serious phenomenon. In view of the present situation of English teaching, the author, based on the dialogue teaching in senior high school carries out teaching reform in smallclass education, with English teaching action research, collecting data, analyzing data, carrying on the questionnaire survey to the students and teachers, and puts forward the necessity of implementing the model of English dialogue teaching in small classes of Senior high school.The thesis is composed of five parts. The first part introduces the research background, purpose and significance of the study. Part Two focuses on the literature review in small class English teaching to the dialogue teaching mode. Part three analyzes theoretical basis of the study. The fourth part is the emphasis of the thesis which describes the process of action research including the strategy research. The fifth part focuses on the research reflection.Dialogue teaching in small- class of senior high school meets the requirements of new curriculum standards, really improving the students’ comprehensive application ability. The effectiveness of teaching remains to be demonstrated in practice, to be improved and enhanced by using proper teaching strategies.
