In recent years, with the expanding scale of China’s colleges and universities, the economic business of colleges and universities has also become increasingly complex and diverse in content and in form, which make huge challenges for the financial management in colleges and increase the financial risk of colleges. Therefore, how to make analysis of the financial risk systematically and strengthen against financial risk is one of the important topics to be solved in colleges’ development. H university is an comprehensive university in Hebei province, there are many problems in the process of financial management, and faces higher financial risk, so evaluating and studying the financial risk of H university study is very urgency and necessity.This paper introduces the background and significance of the topic firstly, and combs the domestic and foreign scholars’ research achievements of financial risk evaluation and controlling problems from the angle of financial risk system. This paper expounds the theoretical mechanism of financial risk, defines the concept of financial risks in colleges, and introduces the characteristics and types of financial risks in colleges and universities.Secondly, this paper analyzes the financial situation at present of H university, discusses the reasons of their financial condition. Then, starting from the analysis of H university’s finances,builds the evaluating system of financial risk, and uses Fuzzy analytic hierarchy process to make the empirical research of H university’s financial risk. Finally, combined with the results of empirical research of H university, guided by the theory of financial risk controlling, the paper puts forward the effective measures to control financial risks in colleges and universities.
