The Research Of The Problems About China’s Migrant Workers’ Children In Equal Education Opportunity

The reason why education is important is that it’s the foundation of national development, which related to whether a country strong enough to have a long standing in the world community. Now China is in the primary stage of socialism, education is one of the most important factors concerned to a nation’s destiny. Since the rapid development of the productive after China’s reform and opening-up policy, a large number of rural labors become extra, which result in an increasing number of migrant workers moving to work in the cities. But some social problems followed, such as getting different pays, health and medical treatment problems, problems in education of migrant children, lacking of social public service, etc.. Among them, problems in education of migrant children,including rural left-behind children of the migrant workers and their migrant children, is mainly manifested in the aspect of education opportunity which is inequality in education. Marx and Engels’ thoughts about education equality of opportunity have already been discussed long before. This paper claimed that the equality opportunity in education is the right of every one, and pointed out that the all-round development of human freedom is the highest ideal of equal opportunity in education. The analysis mainly used the equality thoughts of Marx and Engels, begun with the content of Marx and Engels’ education equality thoughts and their equality thoughts, and combined with the present situation of China’s equal opportunity in education of migrant workers’ children. It demonstrated that people who were lacking of the concepts of equal opportunity in education, was influenced by a long-term dual structure of the urban and rural areas and the inequality of the distribution of education resources are the main reasons caused the education opportunity equality problem of migrant workers’ children. At last, I pointed out that an all-round social values, transforming and improving the system which is unreasonable and allocating the resources in a reasonable way are the corresponding solutions to solve the problem.
