The Middle School history new curriculum idea advocates multiple teaching methods, which makes it important to change the teaching ideas, to exert the students’ subjectivity, to advocates the transformation from teachers’ teaching into the students’ learning. In order to improve the learning efficiency and reduce the academic burden on students, the appropriate learning methods are the key to cultivating the students’ autonomous learning ability.Four learning methods are proposed in this paper: the first is the “Historical Events learning method”, which is practical in history teaching in Junior middle school; the second is “Connecting life with history method”, the third is “Role transformation method”; and the last one is “Transforming the Senior High school textbooks into materials”. The last three methods are mainly used in Senior High schools, and these four methods are the main content of the research, which one also the body of this essay.In this paper, the process includes the teaching cases, the students’ works and the feeling and feedbacks from students, together with the summaries of the gains and losses in the process of research.In this article, the researches and practices of students’ autonomous learning methods play a positive role in improving the middle school history teaching methods and improving the teaching efficiency.
