The 2017 edition of the 2020 revision of "The History Curriculum Standards for Ordinary Senior High Schools" is different from the previous two editions in terms of historical pictures,charts and maps.It clearly points out in the section of " Research and Reading of Historical Materials " that students should "know that paintings,sculptures,photos and other images are important historical materials,and choose representative historical images to study.To understand the value of image historical materials,knowing that the use of image historical materials is not only necessary the method of history also requires the use of different disciplines such as art history.The main image historical materials involved include paintings,engravings,photographs and ancient maps.This version of the history curriculum standard clearly defines various types of historical materials(such as physical historical materials,audio-visual historical materials,textual historical materials,image historical materials,etc.).Among them,for historical materials such as paintings,sculptures,photographs,and ancient maps,this version of the curriculum standard gives a term that rarely appears in previous studies-"image historical materials".It can be seen that curriculum standards of image historical materials related in this paper,the more clear and explicitThe research on the application of image historical materials in middle school history teaching is not new.Many scholars and researchers have written papers from different perspectives.It is still a blank field to conduct research from the perspective of the specific use of historical images in historical textbooks.The first is that the history textbook version compiled by the Ministry of Education has just begun to be used nationwide,and the second is that image historical materials are mentioned in the 2017 edition of the 2020 revision of the " The History Curriculum Standards for Ordinary Senior High Schools ",which in themselves is relatively rare in previous studies.Combining the study of historical image materials with the specific use of history textbooks compiled by the Ministry of Education has enriched the research perspectives of new textbooks and historical image materials.The purpose of this paper is to explain the misunderstanding of the image historical materials,locate the use of image historical materials in high school history textbooks compiled by the Ministry of Education,increase the importance of image historical materials,more careful selection of the image historical materials,improve the efficiency of the image historical materials in the middle school history class.The main contents are as follows:The preface introduces some previous research achievements of image historical materials in history teaching and research.This paper expounds the significance of the combination of image historical materials and history teaching and research: under the premise of the progress of science and technology,how to use the technical means to make the image historical materials serve the teaching effectively.This discussion not only has obvious practical significance for the research of middle school history teaching,but also the direction of the future middle school teaching development.The main body of the paper is divided into four parts.The first part discusses the concept and classification of the image historical materials,and demonstrates the historical value of the image historical materials with examples.Combined with historical core literacy,discusses the image historical material value of teaching.In the second part,it specifically analyzes the historical image materials appearing in the historical textbooks compiled by the Ministry of History and is divided into three categories,including painting image historical materials,photograph image historical materials and map image historical materials.It is discussed that the selection of historical image materials in the textbook has two main purposes: serving the teaching content and used for knowledge expansion.In the third part,based on actual teaching practice the author discusses the three principles of application of historical image materials and the misunderstandings and problems in teaching.The principle of appropriateness,pertinence and objectivity are indispensable.The last part is the key content of this paper,according to the steps of the use of image historical materials,the use of image historical materials strategy is divided into the selection and analysis of image historical materials,guide students to explore the image historical materials.Guiding students to explore the image historical materials is the last step of using the image historical materials and also the most important step of all the discussions in this paper.The principle of expounding the historical materials of images is based on the problems that tend to arise in the inquiry activities.The specific method of exploring image historical materials has practical value and is the new insight of this paper.
