Mental health literacy is a series of knowledge, beliefs and abilities which help people recognize, management and prevention of mental illness and mental health problems.The promotion of mental health literacy,could be beneficial to master the practical knowledge of mental health, establish correct mental health belief and form scientific and effective mental health promotion skills.At the present stage,the mental health education task in our country is arduous.mental health literacy has important theoretical and practical significance for the mental health education.This study based on the theory of mental health literacy,combine with the theoretical orientation of positive psychology,explore the relationship between middle school students’ mental health literacy and mental health.The first study main purpose is to revise the foreign questionnaire; The second study using the revised "Middle School Students’ Mental Health Literacy Questionnaire", "General Well-Being Schedule" and "Resiliency Scale".The second study including 1010 students,who were come from four middle school of Hunan province and one middle school of Guizhou province.Examine the mental health literacy,general well-being and resiliency and explore mediating effects of resilience on the relationship between mental health literacy and general well-being.The findings are presented as follows:1.Middle school student’s structured mental health literacy includes six dimensions:belief in the values/capabilities of mental health,belief in the right of mental health,knowledge/understanding about mental health,functional behavior of mental health,critical behaviors of mental health,communication behavior of mental health.The reliability and validity of the "Middle school student’s structured mental health literacy scale" is satisfactory.2.Identification the common mental disorders,the middle school student average accuracy rate is 44.95%.There was significant difference between different grades or gender in some parts of middle school students’ basic mental health literacy.3.There was significant difference between different gender,grades,whether only child,the place of residence,commuting or boarding in structured mental health literacy of middle school students.4.There was significant difference between different grades,commuting or boarding in general well-being of middle school students.5.There was significant difference between different gender,grades,commuting or boarding in resilience of middle school students.6.Structured mental health literacy has significant positive correlation with general well-being,a significant positive correlation exists between structured mental health literacy and resilience,general well-being has significant positive correlation with resilience.7.Resiliency exerts the mediating effect between structured mental health literacy and general well-being.
