The Internet has penetrated into every aspect of social life, and has become an important platform for our social, economic, cultural activities and personal life. According to a survey from China Internet Network Information Center(CNNIC), by June 2014 Netizens in China’s have reached 632,000,000, an increase of about 140,000 people compared to six months ago. Internet Penetration has improved 31.1 percentage points compared to the end of 2013, about 46.9%. As of June 2014, China’s mobile phone users have reached 527,000,000, an increase of 2,690,000 compared to the end of 2013. Internet continues to permeate in the society, changing people’s way of life and even mode of thinking. The more time people spend on the Internet, the greater effects they will expose.Internet changes people’s life and the whole world, at the same time it has a great influence on the ideological and political education in middle schools. As the saying goes "a sword scabbard has two edges". The influence of network on the ideological and political education of middle school students is a multi-leveled and multi-faceted, in a nutshell, twofold. The ideological and political education under the Internet environment has a unique progressiveness, which can open a broader stage for the ideological and political education in middle schools. Such as: the ideological and political education method, idea and content have strong modern features, which the traditional ideological and political education can compete with. Meanwhile, the Internet is highly addictive, especially for those who lack social experience and self-control, who have strong curiosity and whose psychological development is not mature enough. All of these pose a serious challenge to the ideological and political education in middle schools.This thesis is based on the survey and analysis of the situation of surfing on the Internet in some middle schools in Dongchangfu District. According to the situation of surfing, the author in this thesis explores the various reasons of surfing, analyzes the opportunities and challenges in the ideological and political education in middle schools, and at last puts forward some new strategies in strengthening the ideological and political education in middle schools.
