Portfolio assessment is a qualitative evaluation and optional evaluation, students can get a comprehensive, scientific and objective evaluation, however, portfolio assessment is not widely used in the field of teaching, trace it to its cause, not an isolated case or a great deal of,for example, teachers and students of the concept has not changed, portfolio assessment takes a lot of time and ef fort, portfolio reliability, validity is difficult to guarantee, the operating m echanism of portfo lio assessment is im perfect, and s o on. Theory of Multip le Intelligences is proposed by Howard Gardner— —a psychological development scientists at Harvard Universi ty Graduate School of Education in 1983. Gardner’s theory indicate that the school has only emphasized the development of both of the students in logic- m athematics and language(mostly read and write), but read and write is not all hum an intelligence, different people have different smart combination, a new evaluation m ethod based o n multiple intelligence theory-gauge evaluated successfully apply it in assessm ent, beyond the past to pen and paper-based, limited language and mathematical logic intelligent performance evaluation,through a series of gauge fully reflect various degrees of intell igent student performance levels. Therefore, portfolio assessment and multiple intelligence theory from a certain sense, the goals and aspirations are the sam e, are the vision of development to exam ine the students to lifelong educational purposes. Firstly, the combination of portfolio assessm ent and Theory of Multiple Intelligences is illustrated from the principle of portfolio assessment, evaluation concept of multip le intelligences theory starting, then the theo ry of multiple intelligences created under the guidance of junior high school the importance of physical portfolio is expounded from the students’ standpoint, knowledge standpoint, teacher standpoint etc; the in telligent classification of multiple intelligences theory, symbolic systems and a variety of intelligent evaluati on of gauge, the new curriculum standards of scientific inquiry and s cientific content of two m ost part are introdu ced, the m eeting point of the smart performance with multiple intelligences and junior high school physics curriculum standards competency requirements is found, the design of portfolio of junior high school physical under the theory of multiple intelligences is proceeded, finally, the design is described through a specific case.
