According to the teaching contents of “molecules and cells” in the first obligatory Biology textbook of the PEP edition, this thesis designed three tasks, i.e. making Biology wall maps by hand, producing videos and arranging textbook plays. Teachers and students made the activity schemes according to the topic. Under the guide of the teachers, the students put the schemes into practice to develop the course resources and thus apply them in class. The author evaluated the effects through the questionnaires, paper grades, class observation and interviews of the students’ feelings and experiences. The results are as follows:(1) ModelsStudents paid much attention to the resources developed by themselves, 70% of them would notice the biological pictures hung on the wall and 72% of them would show great interest in the biological pictures drawn by themselves. By testing the related knowledge points in the terminal exams, the average score of the experiment class was 0.3 point higher than that of the control class, which was 4.23 points after converting into the hundred-mark system. Therefore, it is helpful to improve the students ’ memorizing abilities by hanging biological model pictures on the wall.(2) VideosIt helps the students to play a larger part in the class by developing the teaching resources and applying them in class. After the videos were played in the experiment class and the control class one, participants of the students in the class had been increased, and more greatly in experiment class. And the degree of participation in both of the two classes was higher than that of the control class two.By applying the teaching resources in class was advantageous to improve the students’ testing scores. The average score in the experiment class was 30.84, 31.4 in control class one and 28.04 in control class two. That is to say, the grade in both experiment class and control class one that had applied the resources developed in class was higher than that of the control class two.(3) Textbook Plays.Students were very active in taking part in the biological textbook plays. They hoped to hold these activities as much as possible to get more opportunities to show and train themselves. At the same time, they had put forward many valuable suggestions to hold these activities. To sum up, taking part in developing the teaching resources will activate the students’ interest and by applying the resources in class, the students’ enthusiasm will also be improved, thus to enrich their biological knowledge, strengthen their biological humanistic quality.
