The meaning of geographical textbooks have broad sense and narrow sense. Broad geographical teaching material refers to a teaching material system, and the special one only refers to the geographical textbooks. The research object of this paper is the special geographical textbooks, namely geography textbooks.The background of this paper is the changes of the Middle East section in geography teaching materials of junior middle school since the foundation of China. Its main line is time. It explores the teaching contents of the Middle East in geography textbooks of junior middle school in different periods. By looking up the geography textbooks, analysis and inductions of related theses since the foundation of China, the recognition of geography teaching materials in junior middle school is improved. At the same time, in order to better serve for geography teaching practice in junior middle school, this paper also puts forward some thoughts and suggestion about the textbook writing.This article is divided into six parts: Introduction; The changes of world geography teaching in junior middle school geography; The changes of the Middle East in the geography teaching of junior middle school; The impact factors in the Middle East part of the change in the teaching material; Suggestions about teaching material changes and teacher’s teaching and conclusions.The first part, introduction, the selected topic basis, mainly introduces and research significance of this article, the research status of the changes of the teaching materials at home and abroad, main contents of this research, the basic methods and the research mentality. And it also puts forward the innovation and deficiency of this thesis.Taking time as the main line, the geography education development since the foundation of China is divided into 5 periods according to Chen Ershou. namely,copying Soviet period from 1949 to1957; the shrinking period from 1957 to 1976; the recovery and innovation period from 1976 to 1985; the In-depth development period from 1986 to 2000; and the exploration and renovation period from 2001 to now. In a time sequence, it analyzes the change characteristics of the world geography section in Junior middle school geography teaching materials in each period.The third part mainly comparison and analysis the changes of the Middle East section in geography teaching materials in the junior middle school in each geographical education stage. It analyzes and compares the content changes focuses on the natural geography, teaching languages and charts, and the man-land relationship evolution reflected by the teaching contents.The fourth part mainly studies the influencing factors of changes of the junior high school geography textbooks in the Middle East part, including the international and domestic political situation, the national curriculum reformation, diplomatic relations with the Middle East countries as well as the geographic literacy of teachers and students.Through the above analysis, the fifth part puts forward several suggestions about the mastery of teaching materials, examination and evaluation etc when teachers teach the contents of the Middle East section.The sixth part summarizes the main contents of this research. It also finds the impact factors in the of the geography teaching materials in junior middle school. Meanwhile, this paper strengthens the construction of teachers and the development and utilization of geography curriculum resources as well.
