In 2015, an investigation on physical condition of teenagers in Germany, Russia, China, etc. was made by the World Health Organization and Nike Company. According to the investigation, if the present situation where teenagers lack of sports is not changed, this generation will be the first one that son’s life shortens averaged five years than their parents. Thus, teenagers’ physical condition decline is a common problem in the whole world. Teenagers spent much time on study in school, and they do sports only in PE classes and the long break. At present, most of pupils in our country do broadcast calisthenics at the long break and run at PE classes to improve their physical quality. The pupils are not interested in those activities. At the same time, broadcast calisthenics and running are not very useful for pupils to achieve the goal of improving their physical quality.As a traditional sport, rope skipping has a great value on entertainment and fitness. But it doesn’t attract enough attention in the daily physical activity in school. It is only considered as a game, so it is not popularized for PE classes and the long break. In that case, the author studies on using rope skipping(3 minutes of the structure 8 rope skipping +30 seconds of alternating single foot and double feet +30 times of double wave rope skipping) to improve pupils’ physical quality.80 pupils who are from the two classes(grade four) in Yantai Zhifuqu Xingheli Primary School are chosen as the research participants. Because the pupils’ physical quality of the two classes are identical based on the pre-test, and the result analysis shows that there is no significant difference, so they are randomly designated as the experimental class and the control class. Through a semester of one hundred days of experiment, the improvement of pupils’ physical condition is recorded.The experimental results are as follows:(1) Rope skipping can significantly improve pupils’ vital capacity body mass index.(2) Rope skipping can significantly improve pupils’ performance of 50-meter running.(3) Rope skipping can significantly improve pupils’ performance of standing long jump.(4) Rope skipping can significantly improve pupils’ performance of throwing solid sphere with two hands.(5) Rope skipping can significantly improve pupils’ performance of 400-meter running.In conclusion, pupils who always skip in the experimental class have a better physical condition than those do broadcast calisthenics and run in the control class. The conclusion provided reference frame for popularizing rope skipping in the primary school.This thesis hopes that through popularizing rope skipping activities in PE classes, the long and short break, pupils’ physical quality is improved and their interest in participation in sports activities is cultivated. Then the goal of doing sports the whole life will be achieved. In this paper, comprehensive rope skipping exercises are carried out in the daily sports activities of primary school pupils. Through the pertinence of rope skipping exercises, pupils’ physical quality is improved on purpose. It has a certain innovative significance.
