In modern times, China has suffered the devastation of the great powers, especially Japan launched the war of aggression against China. During this period, the Japanese made the Nanjing massacre, the cruelty of make one’s hair stand on end. Although the massacre has been for 78 years now, but the history of the lessons learned and will not fade over time. 2015 coincided with the world anti fascist war 70 th anniversary, the history of the Nanjing Massacre and with today’s historical closely contact together, on how to deal with China and Japan have important guiding significance. Bearing in mind the Nanjing massacre, for the promotion of mutual understanding and promoting world peace, a profound warning. The Nanjing massacre has important historical values for China and the world, even today and in the future, especially for young people in the world. But throughout our current high school history education, but there are some important missing, that is, the Nanjing massacre education is not enough, the system is not strong, the practice is weak, basically limited to the implementation of simple knowledge points, without careful thinking of the teaching design,resulting in the history of the Nanjing Massacre in the hearts of students can not resonate.On the basis of explaining the importance of the education of the Nanjing massacre, this paper points out the problems existing in the middle school stage of the Nanjing massacre education according to the relevant principles, and puts forward corresponding solving strategies. In view of this, this paper is divided into three parts: introduction, text and conclusion.The introduction part analyzes the background and current situation of the research at home and abroad. Text is divided into four chapters. The first chapter analyzes the status and existing problems of the Nanjing massacre in the middle school history teaching. The teaching contents of the Nanjing massacre in the middle school and senior high school are selected, and the specific gravity of the Nanjing massacre is clear. Based on the investigation and research, the second chapter further explores the reasons for the emergence of the first chapter, and analyzes the phenomenon of the memory of the Nanjing massacre among the young people, the neglect of the Nanjing massacre in the school teachers and students, and the responsibility of the education department on this issue. The third chapter analyzes the practical significance of the Nanjing massacre education in middle school history teaching, in order to guide students to cherish the peace, to cultivate students to clarify the facts, to carryforward the spirit of science and to establish a correct concept of patriotism. In the fourth chapter, the contents of the Nanjing massacre in the middle school teaching material, the content of the examination, the use of various forms of education methods, including social practice, research learning and the creation of appropriate elective courses to solve the problem of mass education, the corresponding measures, the article cited several cases to analyze the feasibility of these methods. Through this paper, the relevant departments of the Nanjing massacre education in secondary school can be expected.
