This research discusses the adaptation of children entering the kindergarten and the influencing factors in this process, which is aimed at helping both parents and kindergartens better understand the process of children adapting to the kindergarten, see more reasonably their adaptive difficulties and thus more effectively proceed instruction and education.The first part of the paper introduces the background, significance, theoretical basis and methods of the research. It also gives a review and summary of research status of the children’s adaption to the kindergarten.In the second part, it firstly shows the survey result of the status quo of children preparing for kindergarten in our city, then analyzes their performances before and after entering the kindergarten, their different adaptive stages and adaptive difficulties. Detailed analysis and deepened discussion are given to children’s adaptive difficulties and the reasons to such phenomenon.The third part presents the teachers’ and parents’ perspective intervention and guidance of some children in their adaptation to the kindergarten through analyzing the most typical phenomena in the adaptive difficulties of crying and having trouble dining and taking the afternoon nap. And it also briefly depicts the adults’ intervention to other types of living adaptive difficulties of children.The forth part generalizes the psychological thinking of children’[s adaptation to the kindergarten. Then analysis is given to the psychological factors that influence children’s adaptation to the kindergarten through three aspects of the temporary absence of basic needs especially the safety need, the emergence of social attachment and separation anxiety and the changes of emotion and physical state.In conclusion, stage and gradualness should be paid close attention to in the research of children’s psychology in their adaptation to the kindergarten. It is of great importance for the family and the kindergarten to reach educational consensus through communication. At the same time, both the teachers and the parents need to get well-prepared mentally, materially and technically in advance.
