With the further development of the economy, the traditional pattern of urban and rural areas has been broken. A large number of farmers to urban has become a common situation in today’s society. The Society and academics have generally accepted that the children of migrant workers in cities should enjoy equal right for education. However, the situation of migrant children in learning is not optimistic. This paper is based on the teaching practice of Chinese reading in migrant school. It is a more systematic and targeted research on the present situation of migrant children’s Chinese reading based on the former research of middle school students’ Chinese reading. The achievement, on one side, is very important for the teaching and learning of teachers and students, on the other side, will provide the theoretical support and reference.There are five parts in this article:Chapter one:It is a simple analysis of the issue and puts forward the research background and reasons, emphasizes the meaning of the research, states the related researches on reading at home and abroad, defines some nouns in the article, and states the purpose and meaning of the research of this article.Chapter two:It determines the respondent of the researching on the present situation of migrant children’s reading, introduces the survey method and dimensions, and states the thinking and frame of the researching on present situation of migrant children’s reading.Chapter three:It introduces the characters of migrant schools, families and students in Shanghai. We use test, questionnaire, observation, interview and document research to collect the data of migrant children’s reading. It states the present situation of migrant children’s Chinese reading.Chapter four:It is an attributive analysis of the present situation of migrant children’s Chinese reading.Chapter five:It is the last part of the article. It states the result of the research. It provides some constructive suggestions for the teaching and learning on reading of the migrant students. It makes an appeal to the government and society. To realize the education justice and build a harmonious society, we should carry out comprehensive and integrated education and close the gap between migrant students and local students fundamentally.
