The Use Of Super Sketchpad In Secondary Vocational School Mathematics Experiments

In the past several years vocational education has gained more and more attention from the state. In order to better educate students with professional skills, improving teaching quality and students’ learning efficiency has become a research focus of vocational school mathematics teachers. This study investigates the use of super sketchpad in vocational mathematical classes in carrying out effective mathematics experiments, in order to adapt to the reformation of mathematics curriculum, and to satisfy the needs of vocational education.Firstly, literature review was carried out to understand the concept and theoretical basis of mathematics experiment, their applications in secondary vocational math teaching, as well as the function of super sketchpad and its current usage in mathematics teaching. Based on our research, we interviewed first line teachers in secondary vocational schools, grasped their understanding of mathematics experiments and their usage of information techniques, and proposed to use super sketchpad as the operating platform for secondary mathematics experiments.Secondly, we reorganized the fifth edition of secondary mathematics textbook, extracted what is suitable for super sketchpad, designed concrete teaching cases and tested them extensively in classroom. Analysis of teaching results proved that there are three realizable advantages to properly use super sketchpad in secondary vocational mathematics experiments:(1) it can raise students’ interest in learning;(2) it can help to overcome challenges in secondary vocational math teaching;(3) it can improve learning effectiveness.Finally, we analyzed shortcomings of current mathematics experiments in secondary vocational schools in terms of teaching materials, specialized laboratories, teachers and students as well, and outlined attention needed in secondary vocational school mathematics experiments.
