In today’s society, cooperation has become an important part of people’s work, study and life. One of the themes of education in twenty-first Century is to let the students "learn to how to cooperate ". Though started late, cooperative learning in China developed quite rapidly. Having practiced the method positively and actively, the vast majority of educators have accumulated a lot of experience. However, when they applied the experience of cooperative learning to high school biology education, they did not get the desired result. In order to understand the present situation of cooperative learning in biology in Yangzhong High School, the author applied the methods of questionnaires, individual interviews and classroom observation. Through the statistical analysis of the questionnaires, the author found that: Cooperative learning has brought positive emotional experience to students, and students participate in cooperative learning actively. However, the main regulators of cooperative learning are still the teachers, which is also related to the school type, genders, students’ cooperative learning experience and their characteristics and so on. Two conclusions can be drawn from the interviews and the classroom observation: first, the teachers still lack skills to guide students’ cooperation, especially in terms of the evaluation; second, students are still dependent on their teachers too much.Based on the above problems, the author has put forward specific suggestions to teachers: actively participate in the professional training to update the teaching ideas of the teachers themselves; in the process of guiding cooperative learning, teachers should be aware of their own roles; use the role assignment strategy to set up cooperative learning groups and strengthen the training of students to help them master cooperative skills; apply diversified evaluation to students.
