The Research On Social Support And The City Integrating Of The Migrant Workers’ Children

At present, China is in a period of social transformation from a traditional agricultural society to a modern commercial society. In this process, a large number of migrant workers swarm into the cities seeking for development. This " Farmers’frenzied hunt for work in cities" on the one hand contribute to the development of the city, but on the other hand it lead to employment, social security and other issues. And with the expansion of "Flood" scale, their children will also enter the city. However, many children of migrant workers are born at home and then migrate to urban life, they are not suited to this changing of environment, the children of migrant workers’growing environment, family economy are not the same as urban children, the children of migrant workers may face many problems when they are in urban life. So, the issue of this phenomenon need social support and promote.December 2011, the Communist Youth League in Jiangsu Province formally established the "hope Bar" projects. Hope Bar" is to provide children of migrant workers after-school learning and entertainment venues, and it is an intermediate platform connecting volunteers and children of migrant workers. By providing learning activities and entertainment resources, organizing various activities to help children of migrant workers better integrate into city life.This paper take "Hope Bar" as an example, briefly addressed the background, meaning, purpose, specific measures, operation mechanism of the "Hope Bar". The paper focuses on the "Baochuan community Hope Bar" in Nanjing, and introduces the specific activities and relevant circumstances of the children of migrant workers in "Baochuan community Hope Bar" in detail. Through questionnaires, we can understand relevant situation of the children of migrant workers who participate in the "Hope Bar" and their parents. From the school learning, after-class activities and psychological ownership, this paper investigates the current city integration situation of the children of migrant workers. Also from family situation, parents’education idea and future plans, can reflect the current city integration situation of the children of migrant workers. The results showed that, at present, most of the children of migrant workers have already adapt to city life, but from the psychological ownership, the children of migrant workers in Nanjing were in a low degree, and so were their parents. Relevant social support activities (This article refers to the "Hope Bar" project) have a positive impact on the children of migrant workers for their city integration.Based on the results of the study, this paper objectively evaluate effects and deficiencies of social support, and puts forward relevant policy suggestions from three aspects of school, family, community. The school should standardize educational management, provide a good school education for children of migrant workers, also the family economy and education of children of migrant workers are required to improve, last but not the least, We should strengthen social support, create a good social environment for the children of migrant workers. Only in this way, the social support network of the children of migrant workers can be improved, the children of migrant workers can integrate into city life as soon as possible.
