According to the New Curriculum Reform of Elementary Education, "the National English Curriculum Standards for General High School" (2003) has put forward the following requirements:The current social development and economic construction in our country require a higher level of foreign language capability to Chinese People. The foreign language education curriculum reform of high school is aimed to meet the demands of the development of students’ mental and affective attitudes. In the foreign language education of high school, we should not only focus on students’mastery of English knowledge and skills, but also pay special attention to fostering their positive emotions, attitudes and values. In the English learning process, students ought to be trained to have independent minds, the abilities of cooperation and intercultural communication. Correct outlooks on life and on the world, values and strong sense of social responsibility should be set up as well.However, as much research shows, due to some reasons, teachers pay more attention to imparting English knowledge in the current teaching practice, and the implementation of the Emotion-attitude-value Teaching Objectives is still faced with obstacles, which has caused a certain adverse effect to the students’ English learning and also conflicted with the aims of the New Curriculum Reform. Therefore, the thesis on investigating the implementation of these teaching objectives and exploring the strategies is of great significance. It can not only help to find out the obstacles of the implementation of these teaching objectives, but also contribute to discovering some practical strategies, which may be conducive to improving teachers’ English teaching and promoting students’ overall and healthy development.By carrying out the questionnaire survey, the interviews with high school English teachers and the classroom observation about the implementation of the Emotion-attitude-value Teaching Objectives in the classroom in high schools, the author has found that some problems can act as the obstacles:the current examination system, the facilities and spirit of the school, teachers’ attitudes towards the teaching objectives and the family education.In this paper, some teaching strategies about the implementation of the Emotion-attitude-value Teaching Objectives in the classroom are also put forward, such as effective information excavation of the teaching materials and our daily life, creating a harmonious teaching environment and a good classroom atmosphere, adopting various teaching methods, etc.
