Physics as an important subject in high schools, plays an important role in the development of student’s scientific literacy. The physical teaching materials play an important role in physics teaching. Through comparing our teaching materials with other countries’, we can make clear of the advantages and disadvantages of the physics textbooks in our country. This is an important way to explore the direction of the teaching material reform. This article from the perspective of a high school physical education worker compares Chinese physics textbook with Britain’s, by the method of the literature analysis, comparative research, case analysis, according to the theory of comparative education and teaching evaluation. The study is carried from the following angles:((1) Compare the current situation of Chinese and British in physics education, and the physics course standard between the two countries;(2) Compare content and form of physics examination between the two countries; (3) Compare physics textbook of the two countries, from the aspects of the order of teaching contents, teaching program, teaching material experiment and language style;(4)Compare the physics textbook’s content in detail with the example of constant current.By the comparison of physical teaching materials and examination form, we has been clear about difference of physics education ideals and physics textbooks between Chinese and British textbooks.It is be of great reference value to optimize the physics textbook of our country.Through the comparison and analysis, the author thinks that our country could optimize our textbook from the following aspects:(1) enhance the breadth of the content of teaching materials; (2) add more contents combined with new science and technology knowledge, update the teaching material content in time; (3) Encourage diversified teaching materials;(4)Increase the readability of the textbooks, to be more convenient for students’ self-study;(5) In examining ways, British examination system is worthy of reference, examination form should be more scientific and more open; we should strengthen the practice ability examination.
