Novel is one of the important contents of Chinese teaching, which is favored by the majority of the student readers due to its unique art form. Many famous masterpiece of ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign, were elected to the senior high school textbooks. However, the current situation of senior high school novel teaching is not optimistic.Under the pressure of college entrance examination, teachers put most of the time on the focus of the exam, neglecting the novel unit teaching, thus the students’ interest is not high and the efficiency of the novel teaching is low.In fact, the novel contains rich aesthetic factors, which can help implement the aesthetic education. If teachers can dig deep the aesthetic factors in the novel, and cultivate students’ humanities and aesthetic quality through novel teaching, that will be an effective way to improve the novel teaching. According to the current situation of senior high school novel teaching and the demand of the new curriculum for Chinese language teaching, this thesis taking novels as the research object, combining with the related theory of aesthetic education, puts forward the subject “the exploration of aesthetic education in senior high school novel teaching”. Through studying the literature, this author summarizes the practical experience, and expects to find an effective way which can be suitable for senior high school novel teaching.This thesis contains four parts:The first part is the Introduction, which mainly talks about the background information of this subject, teases the related contents of aesthetic education, and summarizes the related achievements of aesthetic education in high school.The second part is Chapter One. In this part, the author points out the problems and causes in aesthetic education in senior high school, as well as the significance of the implementation of aesthetic education.The third part is Chapter Two, which demonstrates the basis of the implementation of aesthetic education in senior high school mainly from two aspects, that is, the aesthetic psychology of senior high school students and the aesthetic education factors in novels.The fourth part, namely Chapter Three, is the focus of the full text, which strives to explore how to implement aesthetic education in the novel teaching. The author demonstrates this part from four aspects, namely, cultivating students’ aesthetic perception, aesthetic imagination, aesthetic comprehension and exploiting aesthetic vision, and with a large number of examples of classroom teaching. The author also puts forward the strategy of the aesthetic education in senior high school novel teaching.
