Under the background of new curriculum reform, cultivating the students’ technological literacy has become one of the core contents for middle school science education target in our country.The new curriculum of high school chemistry specially has set up a module "Chemistry and Technology". Based on the requirements of technological literacy, this paper analyzes the subject content in Lu Ke version module "Chemistry and Technology", and selects unit of "from petroleum fuel" as an example for instructional design and development, in order to provide necessary teaching cases and resources for high school chemistry teachers, who are engaged in teaching module "Chemistry and Technology", from an angle of technological literacy. This study is divided into five parts, the contents are as follows:The first part, introduction. Introduce the background and research significance of the topic, summarize the related research results at home and abroad, and propose the research method.The second part, the theoretical foundation. Expounds the STS education thought,the theory of the zone of proximal development, and the connotation of learning theory of constructionism, as well as different theories play roles for guidance and advice in the study.The third part, the teaching material content analysis basing on the requirements of high school chemistry curriculum standard and the technological literacy. Select and analyze the theme 4 of models in Lu Ke version "Chemistry and Technology.Firstly, analyze the text and exercises content from the perspective of requirements of the curriculum standard. The conclusions include,(1)rich content, which basically realize request of curriculum standard.(2)increasing partial content in column form,and extending the content standards.(3)lack of comprehensive utilization of natural gas, not conforming to the requirements of the curriculum standard.(4) variety types of exercises, reflecting the three-dimensional goals, but less skilled and experiential target dimension exercises. Based on the conclusions, teaching suggestions are as follows,(1)implement teaching in the real situation.(2) pay attention to the students’participation and experience, and implement the three-dimensional goals.(3)set up visit and investigation, discussion and other learning activities under open experience lessons, pay attention to the education of process, emotion, manner, and values.Analyzing the content of theme 4 from the view of technological literacy connotation, the conclusions are,(1) technical knowledge level. Integration of the content of technical knowledge, chemical concepts and the principle is presented in the textbook.(2) the technical ability level. Through the introduction of a series of technology concepts and technical principles in the textbook, enhance the ability of understanding step by step. Meanwhile, set up hand-on-space program, in order to develop the students’ ability of experiment operation.(3) technical thought, method and design levels. Through thinking about the technology method and technical process involved in the process of preliminary processing and deep processing of raw materials getting products, eventually form technology thought.(4) technical rationality, evaluation and decision-making levels. The textbook introduces the contradiction in recycling heavy oil, guiding students to learn how to choose and evaluate technology. From the aspects of technological progress’ s contribution to protect the environment, the distribution and utilization of natural resources in our country, improve students’ environmental protection and resources consciences.(5)The exercises combine with traditional and open patterns, in line with developing technological literacy target.Based on the conclusions, teaching suggestions are as follows,(1) combine with experimental inquiry activity, and promote the cultivation of the technological literacy.(2)lead students to form technological thought step by step, and cultivate consciousness of technology evaluation and technology innovation.(3) embody the importance of reasonable utilization of resources, and develop technical rationality.(4)concerning exercises setting, select the comprehensive exercises close to the industrial production, and realize the systematic and complexity of technology.The fourth part, the development and design of teaching case. Basing on the third part’s conclusion and suggestions, guided by the STS education thoughts, the theory of the zone of proximal development, and constructivism learning theory, on the rational basis of high school chemistry curriculum standard demands, STS education concept and technological literacy for the instructional design case,design for teaching case of "Derived from petroleum fuel", and put forward implementation of the strategy matching for the case.The fifth part, conclusion and prospect. Summarize research conclusions and suggestions of each part. Analyze objectively of shortcomings of existing researches,and provide guidance for deepening and improving the follow-up studies.The innovations of this study:(1) There are less teaching cases aiming at cultivating students’ technological literacy about the high school chemistry teaching module "Chemistry and Technology". Nobody has studied the topic "From petroleum fuel".(2) Through analyzing the theme of module "Chemistry and Technology", the study guides the thought and method in teaching cases’ development.
