Objective:To provide guidance for objective evaluation of clinical nursing teachers’ competency, the study aimed to build a comprehensive competency evaluation index system.Methods:The Delphi method was used to conduct two rounds of questionnaire about the evaluation of clinical nursing teachers’ competency of 23 experts; initially established index system, features, content, index levels and behavioral description were evaluated; data processing software was used for statistical analysis, AHP was used to determine the index weight, which initially built comprehensive evaluation index system of clinical nursing teachers’ competency.Results:1. The mean coefficient of expert authority of "Clinical nursing teacher competency evaluation index system " is 0.84, the coefficient of expert activity in the first and the second round of expert consultation are 95.8%, 100% separately.2.Comprehensive clinical nursing teacher competency evaluation system including clinical competency levels, teaching ability, personal qualities, professional attitude, innovation ability, personality traits, totally six first-level indicators, the weighting coefficients were 0.1556,0.2065, 0.1779,0.1721,0.1462,0.1417 separately; clinical competence include 4 second-level indicator,which were professional knowledge, clinical skills, clinical decision-making skills and clinical experience; teaching ability include teaching qualifications, teaching ability, teaching organization, teaching methods, motivation, critical thinking, totally 6 secondary indicators, personal qualities include self-image, self-discipline, the spirit of teamwork, dedication, interpersonal communication and coordination, totally five secondary indicators;professional attitude include career values,cautious, responsibility, motivation, four secondary indicators in total; research and innovation capabilities include nursing research knowledge, the ability to obtain and use information, research design and thesis writing skills, creative thinking ability,four clinical secondary indicators in total; personality traits include concern, patient, open-minded and sincerity which were secondary indicators; including a comprehensive master of the correct major knowledge, have much clinical experience, educational background, title, teaching skills, response and control ability in the classroom, participation and writing contribution in research projects, and so forth, totally 38 third-level indicators.Conclusion:On the basis of previous research results,23 experts in the relative field were investigated, and the data were analyzed, a set of clinical nursing teacher competency evaluation index system was initially established. The system has distinct levels, accurate description of indicators, moderate quantities, reasonable weight characteristics, and can reflect the overall quality of teacher competency from multiple dimensions, which can provide scientific guidance for evaluation and help in keeping the fairness and objective of supervision and evaluation in the management of clinical nursing teachers work.
