The informationization construction of standardized examination has been implemented since 1999 in China. After the development in the past decades, an informationization examination system which keeps the principal Educational Examinations Authority as the central part has been built, and it includes many standardized examination such as College/University Entrance Examination, The National Entrance Examination for Postgraduate, Doctor Entrance examination, Self-Taught Higher Education Examinations, Adult Higher Education Exam, and so on. However, the low job performance of educational examinations now becomes a serious problem, for example, high cost and low benefit of informationization construction, low utilization of resources, and lack of necessary professional skills. Increasing the job performance of educational examinations is imminent. Implementing the performance management of educational examinations jobs is a proper direction of educational examinations authority’s development in the future.Performance management is an important project of modern management theories. After Reform and Opening, performance management was introduced in China, and it was applied to various trades and industries widely. In the current economic situation, the performance management of public sector is getting more and more attention in academia because it is related to the construction of service-oriented society in China. Firstly, this article concludes the historical development of performance management, and focus on the researches of performance management in public sector. Then the article explains the necessary of performance management for educational examinations work. Finally, the author presents a system of educational examinations work and performance management.In this article, based on the framework of performance management process, the system of educational examinations work and performance management includes 4 processes, such as, setting a goal of job performance, establishing a system to manage the target, choosing a method to exam the job performance, and applying the result of the exam. According to the features of educational examinations work, the author explore the theoretical connotation of every process, and construct a system of educational examinations work and performance management.
