A Study Of Status Quo And Sustainable Development Strategies Of Taekwondo Course In Yanbian University

As a special sport, Taekwondo has attracted an increasing number of students as a public course in recent years. In order to better promote sustainable development of Taekwondo in Yanbian University as a public course, this paper chooses the research topic of sustainable development of Taekwondo in Yanbian University as a public course. Literature review, questionnaire survey, field investigation, expert interview, mathematical statistics and other research methods are adopted to investigate and analyze the teaching content, teaching environment and students’ status of Taekwondo in Yanbian University. Based on the above analysis, factors restricting sustainable development of Taekwondo in Yanbian University are found out and sustainable development strategies are put forward to further promote sustainable development of its development. Below are research findings:1.There are too few theoretical courses to reach the requirement of guiding practices with theories and give full play to the cultural and philosophical spirit of Taekwondo.2. Students’ cognition of Taekwondo is inadequate. Due to incorrect cognition, some students do not have a clear goal and motive while choosing Taekwondo as their public course;3.The teaching level of Taekwondo in Yanbian University is relatively high. Teachers have rich teaching experiences, which guarantee sustainable development of Taekwondo. However, due to too many classes, teachers have a heavy teaching burden.4. Yanbian University needs to further improve its teaching environment for Taekwondo. The current teaching environment have not only influenced teaching practices, but also dampened students’ enthusiasm in learning Taekwondo.5.Currently, Taekwondo in Yanbian University is taught through guiding, demonstrating and teaching. These teaching methods call for further improvement so as to guarantee sustainable development of Taekwondo.Concerning the above problems, the author puts forward strategies for sustainable development of Taekwondo, including increasing theoretical class hours, improving the examination system, increasing students’ cognition, employing more Taekwondo teachers, bettering site facilities, comprehensively using teaching methods. It is hoped that these strategies can help promote sustainable development of Taekwondo in Yanbian University as a public course.
