Irregular of teachers is a special and marginalized group of teachers in our country. Their living and working status have been neglected for a long time.In recent years, as the changing of society, with the development of economy,culture and education, the number of the Irregular teachers has increased.Study and improve the professional identity of the Irregular teachers is beneficial to teacher construction excellent, improve level of the teachers, benefit to teaching quality.The teachers professional identity is individual accepts and approves his job.Then internalize this positive attitude as his internal professional role,and produce a related positive emotional experience.It includes occupational understanding, role understanding, pride in professional achievement,sense of belonging,professional will and professional expectation.This study takes X province Y city as example, investigate the statue of professional identity of the Irregular teachers in city public elementary schools by using questionnaire and interviewing method.And then use the SPSS 21.0 to analyze the result of the questionnaire.Generalize and summarize the specialty of the professional identity of the Irregular teachers in city public elementary schools.The level of the professional identity of Irregular teachers is high as a whole.For special performance like high occupational understanding,has a clear recognition of the effect and meaning of the teaching profession;High pride sense in professional achievement,working hard to receive recognition;High emotional belonging,has the same emotion experience with the teacher group;High professional expectation,hope the Irregular teachers will have a better future.At the same time,there are still some problems about the professional identity of Irregular teachers in city public elementary schools.Such as lack of awareness for education research;lack of awareness of life-long learning;low identity of “Irregular”;low group belonging sense;low determination of teacher career and lack of specific career planning.On the basic of result analyses,this study put forward a series of countermeasure to accelerate the professional identity of Irregular teachers.On the social side,need policy formulation to maintain the development of Irregular teachers;The problem about shortage of staffing need optimize the educational input;The teachers employment system need innovation as quickly as possible;Establish a multiple ways to authorize the number of the teacher stuffing and improve the Irregular teachers income.On the school side,school should set up the equally manage concept,treat the inside and outside teachers equally;School should help Irregular teachers to establish the scientific and specific career planning;School should focus on the requirement of the Irregular teachers to create a good working atmosphere.On teacher individual side,they should set up a correct occupational values, life-long learning concept and a strong occupational belief.
