Mandarin Chinese is the national language of China, while Chinese pinyin is its carrier to help people become literate, understand articles and learn Mandarin. The Chinese language is a major tool for different Ethnic Groups to communicate with each other. It will greatly improve the communicative competence between different ethnic groups if the Ethnic minorities learn Chinese. So for Chinese language teaching of the ethnic minorities, it is crucial to improve the level of Chinese pinyin teaching. In the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture which is located in west-central Yunnan province, the Bai population accounts for about 80% of the country’s Bai population. In the autonomous prefecture, the main dialect is Bai language which can be divided into the southern dialect area(Dali) and middle dialect area(Jianchuan) based on the differences of regions. The dialect of Bai language in Eryuan county is composed of both southern dialect and middle dialect. In this paper, the author launches the research on the basis of Chinese pinyin teaching situation in Eryuan County.Firstly, by survey and test of Chinese Pinyin teaching effectiveness in Eryuan County Township Central Primary School, the thesis found that in the area there are still some problems of pronunciation confusion and writing disorders in pronunciation, spelling of Chinese Pinyin teaching in the area.Secondly, for the status quo, the thesis analyzes the reasons that led to these questions: 1. after a comparative analysis of the voice systems of Bai language and Mandarin, the paper made a conclusion that the primary reason why students of the Bai minority can’t learn Pinyin well is that they are affected by the Bai dialect; 2. the schools’ infrastructure is poor, some teachers’ language accomplishment and teaching level is not high enough, their teaching attitude is not correct; 3. the parents’ ideology are generally weak, their quality is not high; 4. the social environment, students’ speaking Mandarin is affected by the language environment and the government failed to fulfill its management functions in education.Thirdly, based on the problems and reasons, the thesis put forward the basic idea to solve the current problems of Bai Township Central Primary School Pinyin teaching level. Namely: the school should create a good learning environment for students, improve teaching facilities and attach great importance to the teaching of Chinese Pinyin teaching; teachers should improve their language accomplishment and teaching level; parents have to change their ideas, improve their personal qualities and perform their supervision duty of their children. The government should increase investment in the preschool education, strengthen and improve the weak schools.Fourthly and finally, the thesis explored the macro approach to improve the Pinyin teaching in Township Central Primary School of Bai region. Namely: teachers should change their teaching methods according to the specific circumstances of the Bai students, teach students in accordance of their aptitude, correct their pronunciation of Mandarin combined with Bai language, and then design a class, write instructional design and carry on their teaching activities in which they should incorporate their instructional design.
