| In the process of the contemporary social development, sports has been become an important part of the overall strength of the community, which is an indisputable fact. But with the comprehensive development of the economy and culture of the social, the "marginal utility" of sports is declining, especially the level of development of competitive sports is affected by many factors, such as the characteristics of talent, sports management, ethnic culture,and the investment and income is not necessarily proportional. In this context, the efficiency has become a research hot topic in today’s sports development.In this study, through data envelopment analysis, literature, mathematical statistics, expert interviews and other research methods, it has received nearly four Olympic gold medals in 30 sports powerhouse sports development inputs, outputs status quo for the object of study.Based on the models of input-oriented DEA and Tobit regression,using 2000-2012 the competitive sports powers countries-panel datas, measured the development fficiency and analyzed the influencing factors about the competitive sports.The results are as follews:the gap of the technical efficiency shows the trend of expansion among the countries about competitive sports,and the number of the countries,which competitive sports efficiency is for relatively effective, rises year by year.In the comparison for the competitive sports development efficiency of area, The regions of the lowest efficiency variability are the Africa and the Pacific, and the efficiency of the African region is absolute convergence phenomenon. Another showed that the influence factors of competitive sports development efficiency are mainly the fallout rate of the backup talents for competitive sports,the ratio of the Olympic excellent coaches and its projects and the time span of training experience for the elite athletes.While the comparison results also found that the overall technical efficiency did not reach the sports development optimal speed and showed decreasing scale morphology in 2000 and 2008, which shows that our segment size within the year sports development is too large. Pursuit of Sports Development efficiency has become the regional countries’ development goals, but the findings also tell people that economic investment purely does not necessarily make for regional development to optimize the efficiency of competitive sports in developing or improving the efficiency of regional sports development process should pay attention to sports management elements, elements of sports talent, training elements, elements such as race, only to make the scale of development investment and regional sports matches each element, so that it is more conducive to the development of efficient Sports optimized implementation. |
