The analysis of learning starting point is an important part of primary mathematics teaching. As the key to realize the interaction between teachers and students, grasping the real starting point of students plays an important role in improving teaching efficiency of teachers and improving learning ability and interest of students. From two sides of theory and practice, this paper aimed to discuss how to carry out the systematic analysis of the learning starting point of primary mathematics of primary school students, and to provide some reference for the teaching practice.The qualitative research methods, including literature review, interviews, teaching case analysis and investigation were used in this paper. Through literature collection and review, we refined the theoretical basis of the learning starting point of primary mathematics of primary school students and analyzed the status of the domestic studies.We also studied the logical and real starting point of primary mathematics of primary school students. For students from grade 1 to 3, we sorted out the logical starting point of knowledge and skills and their relationships. In the real starting point, we not only systematically analyzed the four dimensions(knowledge skills, mathematical thinking,problem solving, and emotional attitude) of the learning starting point of mathematics learning, but also studied the analysis, capture and using of the real starting point for three different grades, two different classes(new courses and review classes) and the three stages of teaching(pre-class, class and post-class). For the situation of the real starting point on the high side or on the low side, we put forward some teaching suggestions, respectively.Results and conclusions were as follows. 1. The logical starting point of primary mathematics of primary school students was determined, and the logical relation diagram of the three grade logic starting point was established. 2. The real starting point of primary mathematics of primary school students was systematically studied. Specifically, it included the following three aspects. First, the four dimensions(knowledge skills,mathematical thinking, problem solving, and emotional attitude) of the study on the real starting point were determined. Second, the implementation method(interview before class,the questionnaire, the practice and arrangement before class) of investigating the real point was established. Third, the suggestion of the analysis method of the real starting point was provided, including comprehensive investigation, dynamic observation and continuous attention. 3. The strategies for the primary school teachers to design the teaching plan according to the learning starting point were provided. 4. The methods for capturing the real starting point during training classes and after-class exercises were also provided.The enlightenment is listed as followed. In primary mathematics teaching, teachers should have the scientific development view, pay comprehensive attention to four dimensions, focus on the logical and real starting points and widely use a variety of strategies. So that students will grow up happily under the scientific cultivating method.
