The construction and development of the school of physical education has become one of the main ways of the development of school sports. The good development of the school of physical education can not only improve the students’ physique, but also promote the formation and development of sports culture. It can also promote the development of physical education, and create a good environment for the higher quality athletes. From 2010, schools in Wuxi New District began to promote the construction of physical characteristic education. In the past 5 years, 8 middle schools are successfully created as a sports school. In the first 2 years of the school of physical education, the sports education here has been growing up, but with the advance of time, the speed of the development has gradually slowed down or even backward. In 2014, the development of sports characteristics school gradually tends to be flat. The degree of attention of the school and the enthusiasm of physical education teachers has decreased year by year. On the development of the school of physical education, we begin to encounter difficulties and confusion. The purpose of this study is to sum up the successful experience of the development of the school of physical education in Wuxi New District, and to make some suggestions and considerations for the healthy and stable development of PE.This study uses the literature data method, questionnaire survey method, interview method, mathematical statistics, and logic analysis method. This research investigates and analyzes the current situation of the 8 schools in Wuxi New District, the policy support, the goal of the school, the characteristics of the project, the teachers, the teaching and training arrangement, the evaluation system and so on.This paper draws the following conclusions:1. Wuxi New District middle school physical education characteristics of the school have an overall plan and a clear overall objectives and plans. But they are lack of specific and meticulous about sports characteristics of the project level development, sports team level growth and other related goals; also lack of the sports team construction plan, the school league development plan, related to the campus culture construction plan and the external display, the friendship of the plan, etc.. The development of the school of physical education is still in a relatively loose state.2. The school sports program in sports characteristics school of Wuxi New District is diversified. It is in accordance with the status of the New District, the development of physical education in the new district has a positive role in promoting. But in Wuxi New District junior high schools with physical characteristics and the corresponding primary counterpart in the connectivity of the characteristics of the project is not very close, lack of echelon, so it causes the student level sports and sports teams fault, then the physical characteristics of the school to carry out difficulty increases.3. The teaching time of all the students in the school sports characteristics project is relatively insufficient, and most schools do not use the time to strengthen the construction of sports characteristics, such as the large class break and PE lessons. The lack of adequate time to control, hinders the development of sports characteristics of the project, and also the development of the school of physical education.4. Teachers’ power in the schools is relatively good. It is very good to promote the development of the characteristics of the school. some external coaches are a step to speed up the development of sports characteristics. But the less attention to the degree, the imperfect plans, not strict audit system and other factors also influences the input of the development of the physical education teachers in special schools, and the development of the school of physical education.5. The project teams have fewer opportunities to take part in City or District level competitions. The level of the sports team is relatively low. The number of sports talents to the higher school is also less. These problems have hindered the development of School of sports characteristics.6. Students in Wuxi New District middle school in the school of physical education are relatively good. The development of school physical education has brought some new changes to the students. These changes are the result of our development process.
